Consumer electronics

Consumer electronics refer to electronic devices used in consumers' daily lives, covering categories such as personal computers, mobile phones, and color TVS. As a major global manufacturing base, the production and sales scale of consumer electronics in Chinese mainland ranks first in the world. In 2022, the industrial scale reached 1,864.9 billion yuan, and it is expected to increase to 1,977.2 billion yuan by 2024. This category was initially dominated by audio-visual products. With technological advancements, it gradually expanded into the fields of communication equipment and information appliances. Currently, it has formed an intelligent terminal system driven by artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technologies, and is promoting the development of new-generation audio-visual technologies and virtual reality industries, thereby driving the overall upgrading of the industrial chain.

Since the end of the 19th century, electronic technology has undergone three stages of innovation: vacuum tubes, semiconductor transistors and integrated circuits, which have driven the development of products towards intelligence. In the first half of 2024, the production of mobile phones reached 752 million units, among which smart phones accounted for 74.8%, and the export volume increased by 4.9% year-on-year. Foldable screen phones have achieved a technological breakthrough through structural optimization, with a thickness of 10 millimeters and a weight of 200 grams. The shipment volume in the second quarter of 2024 increased by 104.6% year-on-year. The accelerated deployment of AI large models has given rise to a new category of AI mobile phones. Technologies such as Huawei's Pangu Large Model 5.0 and Xiaomi's MiLM have driven the upgrade of end-side applications. The launch of new categories of smart wearable devices such as AI/AR glasses has further enriched the product matrix. The green transformation of the industrial chain is advancing simultaneously. In 2024, the Wanwu Xinsheng platform will recycle and dispose of 137,000 used devices, reducing pollution emissions by 21.92 tons. In 2025, the national subsidy policy will be resumed, providing subsidies for consumer electronic products such as mobile phones, home appliances and digital products to promote industrial development.
